fordjnky, You've come to the right place for info, links, and tips for your Hobie 16. It's all right here on this forum. The BEST thing you can do is to have a knowledgable and experienced Hobie sailor right by your side to get you started. If you would provide us with the location where you live and where you sail, someone on this forum should be able to help you find a local Hobie Dealer or Hobie Fleet. Good luck and welcome! Agree, there is a ton of info on this forum. Download the assembly manual, read the FAQ's, and search prior posts. Also check out back issues of the HOTLINE on the hca-na website. Also try to hook up with the local fleet and/or dealer in your area. That should give you a good start. If you still have specific questions after that, then ask away. sm |

Hey man I was in Sheboygan WI last month. I saw a beautifull Lake there which I believe is Lake Michigan. Always wondered if sailing is good in those Lakes. |

Alrighty, another local! Fordjnky, I live in Omro, used to sail on Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh... but I work in Neenah and Menasha. Let me know if you want to go out sometime either on your boat or mine.. I now keep my boat on Lake Butte des Morts, in Oshkosh. I can also just meet you at the dock sometime and make sure you are rigged properly. Also, I can loan you the book "Catamaran sailing, from start to finish", if you'd like to read it. It's a great resource, especially for terms! I can definitely give you some tips and tricks on sailing on Winnebago... although, I never had sailed up to Menasha with my boat... I always chickened out and turned around. |
