I am in Australia and would appreciate advice on the best glue to use on the H16 hulls. A brand name that's available in Australia. Thanks

Potentially silly question, but what part of the hulls are you gluing?

Has your deck separated?

Just trying to get a handle on what you're trying to achieve, here...

Sorry - I'm a dope - the question referred to glueing the hulls to the staunchions that support the tramp.
The cat is about 10 years old and there's too much movement between the hulls and the tramp.
I've searched the forum in the past - 'Glueing the Hulls' - and the resins mentioned are USA available.

Ahhhh.... Got ya!

Uhmm, thankfully, mine was already resined when I bought it so I have yet to need to do that.

I know the Hobie dealer up here in Brisbane used to assemble his with resin (I have one which he used to own). You could contact him and ask.

Otherwise, anyone involved in your nearest club/regatta should be able to point you in the right direction.

Sorry I cant be of more help!

Rob.

Any decent brand of medium viscosity epoxy resin will work.

In the US, we use Gougeon Brothers WEST System, which when thickened with collodial silica (CabOSil or WEST 406) to a thick paste, works well.

Did you try an internet search? From New Jersey (epoxy resin austrailia)I found several brands, among them System 3 and West System

www.boatcraft.com.au
Either one of these will do the job..

We used West Marine 2 pack Epoxy and filler - worked really well but then found the pylons had already been glued so we concentrated on the front and rear crossbars and unable to remove the sidebars.

Had to redrill all of the 24 rivet holes due to the wear and tear on the originals and also found another set of holes in each corner - looked like the originals as they'd never been used so the boat had been well fiddled with before!

Now the hulls and frame are nice and stiff but now there's another problem (separate post) - a crack under the front crossbar. Hope to have a plate welded next week.

Thanks to all for the advice. J
