There are a few of us in LA. Sail mostly Bonnelli Park on weekend afternoons. The Lake is right next to Raging Waters swim park. You exit the 57 at Via Verde and go east into the park. Ask the attend how to get to Sail Cove. It is set up well for Hobie sailing. The lake has "Sailboat cove" launch for sailboats only. Motor boats/jet ski's have to lauch on the other side of the lake. There are about eight Hobie 16's that are regulars at the lake. Another good place to launch is Claremont beach in Long Beach - you need to have beach wheels to get down to the water. If you do not have them, usually someone there will lend you some. |

As long as there's wind !!! ![]() |

We sail at castaic lake up near six flags magic mountain off the 5. The lower lake (where we sail) is for non powered craft only. It's small, but never crowded. Wind usually picks up mid afternoon. Have been going here for years. Back in the 80's, the place was packed with hobies and wind surfers. Not the case anymore. Usually its us and several other mono hulls. Haven't seen another hobie there in several years. |
