Thanks Johnny, I hope your situation turns out ok. That would kill me after spending this much time on it.

Reel, I too spend some time fixing my 16, not as much, but a couple of months fixing the outer edges of the hulls which were really ugly from beating a pier where she was kept floating. I did take a look at mine this morning, but it`s hard to tell because the tree is huge and covers it. As soon as I remove the tree, I`ll know.
Now, before I forget, please remember how many things a 16 can "grab" while being towed. I sometimes forget how wide it is and the dangers of hauling it around. Remember to watch those turns around things. Also, if you can, get a portable-waterproof VHF Marine handheld and carry it with you when sailing, it can save your day, or your life.
Good luck and Happy Sailing !!!!!! :D

all good points. Luckily I have a trucking company so i end up swinging wide even in my personal car (people think i'm an idiot sometimes ;)). I do have the VHF and also one of those west marine water proof bags for my phone.

I do remember your posts while you were redoing yours. As they say alot on these boards..."If its fiberglass it can be fixed."

What a nice job! I too spent the same seasons working on my hulls, and will post photos soon. It was a fun project, but it's also great to finally get it back in the water. (We had her out for the first time this year last week).

Please let me know where you found the logos! My (now) white hulls look a bit bare!

This really is a fantastic example of what can be achieved with one of these old girls. Having the photos there to show where it has come from and where you have taken it to, makes me feel as though I'll own mine forever, no matter what may come of it.

So much delam, yet so much patience and determination!!!

A great job well done, and I hope it gives you many many years of sailing.

well I'm not sure if she floats yet

I've been thinking the same thing. This being my first sail boat I can see me giving this to the kids some day and getting a newer "lighter and faster" one for myself.

I'm in VA ~40 miles away. The water was about to wash out of the fish tank.
