Hi Matt M
What is the size and type of the nut on the end of the bolt that holds the downhaul ring on.The one on my new boat fell off(did not think to check if tightened at factory)

The bolt and nut on the H16 gooseneck is a new thing due to the 6:1 downhaul which allows more working of the part (people make more adjustments because it is easier to do). The original clevis and cotter key seemed to fail the cotter key sometimes.

The nut is # 8050101 1/4-20 Lo profile

The bolt is 1/4-20 x 1 1/2" #8040000 (not in the catalog yet)

I bought the new assembly for my H16, but the nut keeps loosening up and falling off, I have lost 2 so far this season. WHat do you recommend to keep the nut on the bolt? The nylon nut doesn't seem to do the trick.

Get the nut on there and ping the end of the bolt to damage the threads. Try some red loc tite too. We have been struggling with this a bit. Should have been a special nut that locks due to a ping from the side. Some went out as standard lock nuts I believe.
