So I am finally out in the trap, single handed, and I end up in the water when the wind drops a bit. Plus, it seems one side is a little lower than the other, so more apt to put me in the water until the wind fills the main. Is this normal, or is an adjustment to the trap wires, dog bones, diaper, or shrouds in order?

Might not be enough wind to go on the wire. If the leeward side is too low, you need to move closer to the center.

Did you check hulls for water? You might adjust dogbones to bring you up a little. What's your weight? More wind!

There should be a "rope lock" on the rope portion of the trap system that can be adjusted to set how far down you hang, if that is what you are referring too.

I regularly check hulls for water, and figure I need to adjust the dogbone. I weigh about 165.
