Post subject:  Awesome day on Lake St Clair, MI
Many thanks to MBounds for inviting me to crew on the Race Boat today. It was an awesome experience and makes me REALLY look forward to racing next season.
The morning started with a very early morning sprint 17 miles across the lake in my 20' powerboat, and ended with the same trip back in the evening. It was a perfect day for Michigan in October - 75+F degrees, clear skies, although fairly light winds.

We ran 4 races, for Cat's and Thistles. The racing was very well organized and tight. Being on the race boat was a great experience to watch the strategy at the start, discussing wind and strategy at the gate with Matt, and then recording the finishes. I can't thank everyone on here enough for encouraging me to participate, and Matt for offering me the invite and making it happen.

Glad you could make it Steve.

Couldn't ask for a more beautiful day, although bit more wind would have been nice. See ya next year!

. . . and the motorboat chop was pretty impressive - it was a gorgeous fall day and we had a lot of smiling faces.

The Thistle fleet even handed out an award for a guy winning his first race . . .
