Here is an example of one i found at a thrift store for $3.00.
Take a look at the tag it has Transport Canada certification....
and it is really not that comfortable....
I have ordered a new Zhik and can't wait to try it out...

I am kind of surprised that no one makes a combination life jacket/trap harness. I haven't trapped yet, but have all the missing parts on my Christmas list for 'Santa'. It seems that having one unit that you slip on would be more comfortable, no? |

The problem is that it would have to meet the USCG lifejacket requirements. There are strict rules for USCG approved jackets and having a combo harness would likely prevent it from meeting these requirements. If you have a comfortable harness and a comfortable life jacket, it's really a non-issue. sm |

Also, without straps under the legs to support weight this would not really work for trapping out. Likely it is a hook for tether to onboard lifelines? Maybe add some leg loops, reinforced, and try it. It's pretty ugly though, IMHO, but priced right

I think it was designed for windsurfing.... it enabled me to trap out this last summer and got me even more hooked on speed and balance... my new harness should be here in a week.....

Here's one I bought in 1981. I don't believe the company exists anymore. It's a great harness.
