Post subject:  Sad Day....

After spending quite a bit of time and effort prepping the port hull for paint I discovered the Starboard hull on my 16 is delaminated beyond what I'm interested in repairing. About 60% of the inboard side is showing signs of delamination as well as a 2' area on the outboard side just under the front pylon. This is my second set of old used hulls in two years and I thought these were in very good shape when I bought them.

I'm going to leave them unpainted and ugly and sail them till they die. In the meantime I'm in the market for another set of hulls that are in good condition. If I don't find some by next spring I may pop for a new or newer boat with all the bells and whistles however,....

If Anyone is aware of a good set of hulls in the Florida panhandle area I'm all ears and can be reached at [email protected].

Such a sad sad day!!

I just saw a REALLY cheap set on Detroit Craigslist. I don't know how you might get them down there, but if you need me to take a look at them I might be able to get over there.

Actually not, thanks for another lead I may have to take a road trip! All this Christmas stuff is getting in the way of my boatin' time.

tmason in the Florida Panhandle,

For a shorter roadtrip, you may want to check with Pat Martin (850-235-4805) who owns Starboard Marine in Panama City Beach, FL.

He has quite a collection of used catamaran hulls and parts. He also specializes in fiberglass/gelcoat repairs.
