Hi everyone, I can't seem to set enough mast rake on my 79. At best I'm able to get into the 4th hole from the top (barely) on the shroud adjusters and we're a fairly light team. 275lbs total weight. I'm putting the forestay in the top hole if the forestay adjuster. Do I have a short forestay wire??? How long should it be on a 1979 setup?? Am I missing something? How much force is used to pull the side shrouds down into the adjuster? |

Yes, It is quite possible the forestay is short. Add an extra 10 hole adjuster to make the system longer. |
