Post subject:  HOBIE 16 font type at rear of hull ?????
I am replacing all the stickers on my hull during a bottom job. I have ordered the 36" diamond and also the 12 "flying H", but i can't seem to find the stickers for the "HOBIE 16" that is on the very rear of the hull in 2-3" letters.

i did a search for FONT and it was mostly sail numbers, etc.

does anyone know the font for this?

Which version of the sticker are you looking for?
Original (white or black outline block letters) - custom, no font available
1984 - late-90s - black italicized block letter - custom, no font available
Late 90s - current - various colors, block letters - Arial Black Italic is pretty close, as is Weissach Black Italic.

I typed it in Microsoft word, and the Arial is real close, looks good.

I have a 1995, so they were in color. Since i am about to put on the 36" "diamond Hobie" sticker on that is light blue and grey in color, i am hoping to get a color that will match the color in the Diamond Sticker. I plan on getting some grey pinstripe also.

Are the 2" letters available from Hobie? i don't see them in the catalog. if so, what are the colors?

You can get the vinyl from Hobie Cat (I've done it), although it's not in the catalog. You'll probably need to go through a dealer.

They may not have the colors / style you're looking for though. There were three colors of the "Hobie" - purple ('99-03), light blue ('04-'07) and red ('05-'11).

Some of the red ones say "Hobie Cat", not just "Hobie".

The "16" is gray and a touch smaller (1-1/16" vs 1-3/8")

For 2012, Hobie changed the style again:

It goes with the new "black diamond" logo on the side (black w/silver sparkles)
