Regatta Lite is a polyproplylene line. Very light, very cheap. Similar to Marlow's Marstron. Not UV resistant. Sheets made from this material will be fine in the short term, but will not be long-lived. The fibers get brittle and within a year, the line will feel like the prickly side of a piece of Velcro. It will have significant wear where it's cleated. If you want something that will keep it's hand feel (soft and fuzzy) and be a good value, you want polyester - Samson Trophy Braid (it's what used to be standard on new boats). Get 8 mm diameter. It will run through the blocks much better. |

I leave my boat on the beach anchored with cinder blocks in the sand. One year I used polypropylene line mainly because I had a spool of it in the garage left over from some work project. After one season I was picking polypropylene splinters out of my hands every time I untied the boat. |

I sailed 1/2 of a season with the Yale light line and found it to be a pain in the ass. In any substantial wind it will blow off the tramp leaving you or most likely your crew hauling in line most of the time. I now use Salsa line on my main sheets and Bzzz line for jibs. The salsa line is worth the money. |

I use New England Sta-Set and have been very pleased. It's inexpensive, tough, runs through the blocks well, feels good in your hand (but not soft as fuzzy lines) and comes in several different colors. It's just a good solid all around line. |

The salsa line is worth the money. Buzz is what I use on my main sheet.cheaper versionn of Salsa.Mind you if I had all your money I would just get a new boat every time my main sheet wears out.

I've been using the same set of blocks, with Salsa sheet for four years now. I use the same set on my rec 14 & 16 and race with them as well. Worth every penny.

I went with Bzzz line. Just reeved it an can not wait to try it out. The original sheet is much stiffer.

You will like the Buzz line,as far as lasting more then one season,it depends how often you sail.I find with the amount of time I am on the Water ,one season is pretty good for one main sheet. |
