Post subject:  trapeze question

ok, I'm new to sailing and have never used a trapeze system, but I saw this on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hobie-16 ... enameZWDVW

my question is, that looks to have 2 lines, but they said it is a single system. Can someone please explain why 2 lines are needed for a single system? Thanks

there is one on each side in a single tramp set up port/starboard. be careful buying used rigging off e-bay they do tend to wear out, new wires are $55.15 w/o adjuster line rope locks and dog bones. That extra stuff should run around $23, so for around $80 bucks you can go all new.

Hmmm... that does not look very original... This extra set of eyes on a short run of wire looks wierd!
There are double trap wire setups where the two wires are combined in one eye to attach at the mast tang. But this is deffinately not a requirement. Two individual trap wires per side work as well - and you can throw them away individually when ever one of them is due. A lot of times the handles die before the wire is done.
