Hi everyone, I wrote into the forum 2 weeks ago looking for a 16 to buy in Washington State and thanks to all that responded. I found a beauty 1980 model in what looks to be in great shape. One issue i have noticed, and would like some advice on, is in regards to some small cracks I found where the adjustable upper rudder castings are monted to the hulls. My question is, do these cracks have to be sealed and is this a major problem? I've looked on a few local hobies that all seem to have this same cracking around the upper rudder where it mounts to the hulls. Thanks in advace for your help, GC |

Small gel cracks are very typical in this area of the boat. If the cracks are deeper then you need to see how ddep and decide from there. I would GUESS that they are just spider cracks in the gel |

Hey, Thanks drummer63, the cracks are spider cracks in the gel. It is very solid, I just wanted to make sure and tackle the problem while the hobie is out of the water, if need be. Thanks as always! GC. |
