| Post subject: | Attaching Main Blocks |
Have any of you ground down the post on your main blocks so that you can attach them directly to the travelercar? I've been using a shackle to attach the blocks to the traveler but I'm trying eliminate some stack heighth on my 3" blocks. Does grinding the post create any major weakness? Chopper |

Just bend the traveler car a bit, no need to grind down the blocks. A simple speared of the traveler car connection point is all that is needed, and yes this will help lower the height of your blocks. |

Post or car (deck plate)? We used to grind the posts on the blocks sold in the parts department, but we have modified the deck plate to the right dimension now (couple years ago). |

This is on a '86 16. I'm thinking of grinding the post coming out of the block so that it will fit in the bracket of the main traveler car. Chopper |

Hmmm, I use a triple Harken block ... I can pin this thing without grinding the pin or bending the car. IIRC the swivel function is build in the block. I'm not sure but I think my block is a bit smaller than 3" - this might be the difference. I can send a pic if you need one. Patrick |
