Post subject:  Hobie Weight/Maneuverability?

Hi there. I'm thinking of buying a Hobie 16. Near my home, there's a basic boat storage facility about 150 metres from the water line. I'm curious about how heavy the Hobie 16 is. Could a friend and I haul it from the storage facility to the water to launch on our own, without a dolly? Or is it too heavy?

Thanks!! Steph.

Too heavy without a dolly, It weights 300 to 320 pounds. Ull need 4 people to carry it to the water for 150m/450feet, and arms will stretch.
Buy the hobie, a dolly and have fun!

Thanks AlexSails, I had a feeling that was the answer. I've usually sailed Hobies on vacation, where they are conveniently lined up on the beach, ready for action.

if it is loose sand/grass you could drag it with 2 people easy, cat trax would be much much easier and not cause the wear and tear on the bottom of the hulls.
