Post subject: | strange creaking |
I just gota new boat and sailed it for the first time today, and noticed a strange creaking sound coming from the stern (rear) side on the starboard side pylon. It sounded like a creak somewhat like an old door. It kept sounding everytime we hit a slight wave. Anyone know what this is from/how to get rid of it? On a side not, we also heard a similar creak from the mast near the base... any ideas? |

I get the same thing.............every morning! It's gotta be old age! As for your boat, I kinda think it may be the joint between the tramp frame and the pylons in the hulls rubbing together. I just took my old Hobie apart and found a lot of lube in the corner castiings and on the pylons. Also make sure you have the little teflon disc in the mast base on the tramp frame. This keeps the mast from grinding a hole in the boat until it hits water if you know what I mean. |

Have you considered that your boat is haunted? |
