Where is a good, reliable place to buy rope? I need rope for the jib sale, main sale, and a line for hoisting the mast. Also, how what type of rope do I want? Thanks for the advice. |

Layline, Murrays, APS, West Marine to name a few. Or you can CALL any Hobie dealer and they will get you exactly what you need. sm |

I typically order rope (it's not a line until it's cut from the spool, but that's just a technicality) from: http://www.apsltd.com or http://www.velasailingsupply.com I just ordered all new lines all around earlier this summer. This is what I ordered and I am extremely happy with the feel and handling of the lines. Main: New England Ropes Salsa 8mm 42ft. Jib: NE Ropes Bzzz line 7mm 32ft. (I would recommend 6mm but I didn't know that then) Aussie jib halyard: NE Ropes V-100 3/16" 70 ft Main halyard: NE Ropes Sta-Set 3/16" 27 ft Jib travel cars: Marlow Excel Pro 5mm 12 x 2 (different colors) Everyone will have their own opinion. This is merely mine. It's not the cheapest setup out there but I really like it. World of difference over my old lines. |

follow the hobie manual for diameter and length... i got some decent rope on the cheap via ebay. not the best ever but for what i need, it is ideal and was priced nicely. also, in bulk form it is rope and once cut to size and put to use, it is then line. |

Some less expensive sources than Worst Marine: www.defender.com www.hamiltonmarine.com I bought rope/line from them for my big boat. Lots more line = lots more $$ and every penny helps. |
