What's the "poop" on the hobie 14?
Is it a good boat?
Is it fast?
Can more than one person ride on it?

Why did Hobie stop making the 18?
The Wildcat is amazingly cool and 18feet long (right?) but it's a technical beast.

The 14 is a smaller version of the 16. Jibs were not standard, only the turbo versions have them. There is not much room for 2 people on them. I am a good sized guy and I max out the 14 solo. It's not as fast as the 16.

I'm not sure why Hobie stopped producing the 18. I assume it's because the design is old and the F18 fleet out evolved it. That's where the Tiger, and now the Wildcat, came in.

Hobie stopped making the 18 because people stopped buying them (at least buying enough of them). Same reason they stopped making the 14, 17, 20, and 21. A sailboat manufacturer won't make money if they don't sell boats, and there's no reason to produce boats that people won't buy.
