Hi, I was at the hobie dealer this morning and noticed that the one piece (euro) rudder gungeon has 8 screw holes instead of the 6 used on early h16's... The 2 additional holes are lower than any of the ones currently in the transom. Does this mean we have to tap two new threads on the transom to attach the new gungeons with all 8 screws? thanks! |

The extra holes would need to be drilled and tapped. |

Thanks! I just bought the 12 x 24 tap needed for the threads. The new tapped holes/threads will be lower in the transom. Does the transom backing plate that is glassed inside the hull extend far enough down the transom for the new thread to be tapped into it? Or will these screws just hold to the fiberglass? thanks! |

Mr Miller.... Do u know if the alum transom back plate extends far enough down to tap into the two additional holes or will these be screwed only to the fiberglass? thanks! |
