What is the name brand and or type of line being used in the FAQ tramping lacing guide. And what is the size? Thanks |

It's Liros Magic Gold (Polysester cover / Dyneema core) - about 4 mm, I'd guess (that's a bit less than 3/16") But any small diameter, non-stretch line will work. My 17 is laced with 3 mm Samson Amsteel (Dyneema single braid). Dyneema is waxy/slippery and slides through the grommets even under very high load. Downsides are that it creeps (slowly elongates under load - need to re-tighten at least once) and those skinny little lines under a lot of tension can act like a cheese slicer on your body parts. |
