Post subject:  1971 Hobie 16 - Question

So, I'm thinking about purchasing a 1971 Hobie 16 in great condition. My only apprehension is that it's 1971. Does anybody know if there there any problems with this earlier model? And was there a big difference in performance between that age and a 1980s model?

Thanks in advance.

A 43 year old boat is going to have issues. There have been a lot of small things done to improve the boat since then that add up to a big difference in the way the boat works.

I haven't seen a 1971 in "great shape". My 2007 is in "great shape". "Great shape for its age" is a whole 'nuther thing.
