Post subject:  Recommendations for Nautos Mainsheet Blocks

Hi-

I'm going to replace my old Seaway 5:1 blocks with a Nautos 6:1 combination on my 1984 Olympic Edition H16. Wondering if anyone can recommend the part # for the blocks I need to purchase. And comments on the general quality/reliability appreciated. Thanks, Paris.

I have to ask.

Why not Harken?

For my H18 I purchased Part#92230 (triple swivel boom block under the "Classic line" menu) and part#92733 (triple swivel ratcheting base block with becket and cam under the "ratchet" menu). Both of these blocks are 57MM (Is that what the 16 calls for?). I ordered them directly from Nautos' site and they arrived in the mail from Florida a few days later. The blocks came with a 5-year warranty and have a 2,000+ pound breaking strength. They're very good blocks, I'd recommend them to any recreational sailor/weekend racer. If I participated in the GT300 or Tybee 500, then maybe I'd consider paying 3X the price for Harken's equivalent. The blocks I replaced were Harkens (ratchet failed) and you cannot tell the difference. My $.02.
