I just picked up a Hobie 16 for $250 with trailer. I think its a 72 based on the hull ID - located under rudder mount etched in vertically CCM655681272. Hulls are in great shape with just a small dent that has formed a little spider web about 2'' in diameter. It has sails in decent condition, tramp is definitely been degraded by UV and mast is nice ad straight. This is my first Hobie (sailed them when i was younger on Cape Cod but have never owned or rigged one) They guy i bought it from harvested some parts for another hobie and I know I am missing some parts. I would love some part identification and advice.
First off How do I import pictures onto this Post?
It looks like I am missing the Shroud and Forstay and the Jib halyard and possible some other parts.
I am assuming that the wire with the 2 white handles are the Trapeze lines?
The mast looks like it has been re-riveted and moved about 3 inches higher - Is this something i should be concerned about?
Regarding the Shroud and Forstay; I've read that the lengths changed in 80's in an attempt to reduce pitch poling. If I order new forstay and shrouds I am assuming they will come with new lengths - Will these work with the current mast setup?
The mainsheet and pulley and slide cam block are from a Hobie 14 - Will this be sufficient? or does it need to be beefier for a 16?
