I'm just working on overhauling my rudder system and notice I have quite a bit of play in my tiller connectors. Right now I have the original tiller connector kit on it with one of the discs missing. How much play is "normal"? |

Very little, to none. There are a couple of ways to do it, depending on where the play is at. Do a quick search on here and there is plenty of info. If you have any specific questions or concerns, feel free to post them! Lot's of play gives you misalignment and costs speed and control. Who wants that? ![]() |

Thanks Steve! I figured new connectors wouldn't hurt either so I ordered a kit. |

I can't imagine why someone would buy the old tiller kit when the Miracle 20 kit is available. I find it to be a tremendous improvement. |

I agree you should check out the H20 kit. Makes removing tiller a snap and decreases slop in the tiller at the same time. It is more expensive but worth it in the long run. Especially if you remove rudders to trailer or store your boat. |

By all means, go with the H20 kit. I've upgraded both my boats with it. Less slop, easy disassembly for trailer or storage. What's not to like? They're vastly better than the old connectors, and an easy upgrade. Dave |

I too have the H20 connectors, just made the upgrade this year. The old style had too much slop for me, and no matter how much I tightened down those screws/bolts, they always seemed to loosen up and/or slide out. At least with the H20 kit, I have zero slop, I know that once it's set it'll stay that way, and disassembling for trailering is SOOO much simpler! You just have to decide if the above conveniences are worth $146 to you ![]() |
