Post subject:  Display Registration Numbers, TX

Hi all,

I'm purchasing a 2004 worlds edition Hobie from a seller in Michigan. I'm bringing it back to TX to sail. Here's the link to the posting.

As you can see, there are hull numbers in the front and I don't wish to take these off. I've done some reading but all the websites for TX seem to speak primarily about power boats (those dang power boaters).

I want to keep the other cool worlds stickers on it and of course the current hull numbers as well and not replace them with some unfashionable registration number. I'm wondering if in Texas I have to display the registration number stickers on a Hobie 16, or can I scrape by without them?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, yes. You must register and display your registration number and sticker on your Hobie 16 in Texas. Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens do patrol the lakes and check these things.

Here is a link to the Texas registration and decal requirements...
