It was surprisingly easy to right. i had one other guy on the boat with me and we went from upright to capsized and back to upright in about a minute, maybe less. it definitely wasn't planned. the winds were blowing at about 16mph, which i can easily handle, but the gusts that came out of nowhere were about 25mph.

still, it was incredibly fun. a really great time out.

I have bad news, I can't say you are in the club until you pitchpoll!

Kidding, glad to hear that your first capsize wasn't a bad experience, now you will start pushing the boat alot harder. Remember to watch that leehull in a blow~

Capsizes are fun once you learn how to do them. Pitchpoles, on the other hand, are not that much fun, especially for the the crew, who either is swung around into the jib or mast if trapped out, or sent sliding down the tramp to the opposite corner if seated - hopefully without hitting his head on the boom or getting tangled up in the jib sheets and blocks. As captain you've got the stern crossbeam, main sheet, or tiller to hang on to, but they are cold comfort.

Where's that video by a Swedish sailor who's got a great angle on his crew taking an unplanned swim?
