Well, the traveler cleat pad tore off the rivet last sail and I have picked up another PAD mount. Seems I need to clean and lubricate the whole traveler system as I was having quite a bit trouble pulling it in the traveler the sail before. It was previously riveted in and I believe this is the way to do it. The guy at the store said I could use the screw/nut in the kit but I am a tad skeptical about this (even thought it would be much easier) for two reasons: 1) I am not sure there is access to allow me to place the nut on the back (boat sits at the beach can't see it). 2) A screw and nut just do not seem nearly as secure. Any reassurance before I go buy a rivet tool would be appreciated ![]() |

okay I walked out to the boat in my driveway to have a look There should be 2 screws and 1 bolt/nut and 1 rivet that hold it all together The nut/bold hold the cleat to the mounting pad in the front most hole, the screws go in the 2 reaming holes on the swivel cleat and are long enough to pass all the way through and into the rear cross bar. Then you can rivet the last hole to the rear cross bar, or you should be able to get away with a self tapping sheet metal screw. Hope this helps I can get a pic if you need one. |
