I have an 86 H16 that has the old jib traveler system that needs to be updated.

Murrays has a couple of options: #1 uses the Ronstan traveler cars and #2 uses the 4 hole plastic traveler. Murrays has the latter kit using the Ronstac C cleats to adjust the traveler position. (You have to buy the traveler car separately) Page22

The Hobie catalog shows the #2 system with lance cleats. Page 24

What do you recommend?

Thanks

#2 (Hobie version)

Lower profile, lower friction, anything much more than a lance cleat on the traveller line is overkill.

Thats some good info. I think I may try the trentec cars and the Murrays system with the Ronstan C Cleats.

One of the posts that was on the link showed the lines for car adjustment run through and tied on the shroud which sounds good. (The diagram was also very helpful) I think a good placement for the C Cleats would be near the mast like the Hobie catalog shows. The Ronstan C Cleats would have a wider adjustment range on the boat.

How does this setup sound?

Thanks for the advice

It should work fine. Check for interference clearance with other rigging and mast rotation before drilling any holes.

Well looks like Im actually gonna go with the 1st one with the Ronstan traveler cars that uses the current swivel cleat as part of the traveler control. Apparently this sytem from Murrays is about as cose as you can get to what comes on the new 16s.

Brad at Sunjammers priced it out and the Murrays package is about $50 less than if you got everything from Hobie so its a pretty good deal overall.

Has anyone have experience with this type of jib control system?
