Any body on here sailing around clearwater, fl. I am in town for work. I've been here almost a week and looks like I'll be here another week. Last weekend I found a place that rents hobie waves. So I did that I will say it was fun to get out on the water and in the sun. I am from Oregon and there is currently snow on the ground. The wave was fun but but not quite like my 16 I saw a couple 16's out and they went flying buy. Well I was wondering if any one was around here who has a 16 that wanted to take me out this weekend Jan 20-21. I race the 16 in A fleet back home and would love to get out with someone while I'm here. Thanks |

http://www.clearwatercommunitysailing.org/ This may be where you rented the Wave, if not, they have Getaways and a bunch of single hull dingies. Sorry, I am out of town or I would take you out on my 16. ![]() |

Thanks for the info. Yes that is were I rented the wave and I couldnt justify spending 100 bucks for two hours on a getaway. It dosent look like the tampa bay site forum gets used very often I may be wrong but 3 posts since november dosent sound promissing. Any one else out there want to go for a sail. Thanks for all your input. |

You may want to check into their seasonal or short term memberships, I am thinking they may not be far off of what you would pay for two hours and you could sail as much as you want. Great deal if you intend to return. TampaBayCatsailors is pretty inactive but you may be able to hitch a ride as most of them sail off of the Dunedin Causeway (By Sail Honeymoon) which leads to Honeymoon island. I see a lot of singles going out on boats when I sneak out to eat lunch there and they would probably love someone to go out with them. Sail Honeymoon rents trimarans with a Sloop rig. ![]() |
