I have the following parts, but need a sanity check to see if this is the right method to go about this;

Now does the rivet, go into the cap;

And then whole shebang goes into the part (and into the mast), and then riveted into place? Do I need to put any silicone or anything in/under anything?

This is a shot of the bad part;

Thanks!! Or maybe does the cap go in the mast first, then part, then rivet? *shakes head* :oops:

You've got it right in the first series of photos.

But it really doesn't make any significant difference.

Rather than silicone, use a bit of Tef-Gel (http://www.westmarine.com/buy/tef-gel-- ... P012222212) to minimize galvanic corrosion between the rivet/rivet cap and the mast.

Thanks for verifying my plan of attack! I'll see about getting some of that gel before I start. Thanks!
