Can someone tell me the distance from the top of the mast to the tang? Did this change over the years? If so, can someone tell me the different distances and years? Cannot find this information anywhere. Thanks. |

Define "top of the mast." The class rules define it one way as the end of the sail track. (See the diagram on page 20 of this: http://hobieclass.com/wp-content/upload ... 151001.pdf) You also need to define "the tang" - what part (which hole)? The distance from the top of the sail track to the main shroud attachment hole has not changed over the years, but the length of the shrouds has. (They've gotten shorter.) If you're using the reference points I described above, the dimension is 92 7/8" ![]() |

Has the location of the tang changed at any point in the history of the boat relative to the ends of the mast? |

I don't know why this drawing is so fascinating to me. I must of looked over every detail 3 times over 30 minutes. It is awesome that you are willing to share the info. I love this site for that reason. No where else could you get support like this. By the way, I am pretty sure that my mast base was originally held on with only 3 rivets. |
