Getting things ready for the upcoming season and have a question about the jib traveler set up on my 1984 model.
This set up is all orginal, has the pulleys on the spring mounts, cam cleats, and those locking pins that you have to pull up to slide the traveler car inward or outward. I plan on keeping this system for the time being, but I really don't understand how to use it. I have the original assembly manual that came with the boat, as well as some performance manuals and even a manual that talks about learning to "Sail the Hobie Way". The manuals all show how to rig the jib sheets but, I haven't seen anything as of yet that explains how to use this set up correctly. Can someone please clarify and explain how this system is to be used? Thanks so much.

To be more specific, the only part I don't understand how to use are those locking pin things and where they need to be position wise.

The simple version:
Upwind - all the way in.
Downwind - all the way out.

Reaching? Well, that's not the simple version.

Thanks, so basically you just have to kind of figure it out when it comes to reaching.
