HI, I was reading your article on hobie delam repair, if the foam has deteriorated, is that a different issue ? I have a very large delam, I thought about thru a few holes to scrape out the deteriorated foam, vacuum out dust and VERY carefully inject the hard 2 part marine foam in VERY SMALL amounts. The foam expands to fill area, and you can choose how hard it is. Done in small amounts, it will not deform the hull. The very hard foam does not expand as much either.Some is so hard that a hammer will not dent it, & its very adhesive, I know because I had to remove some from my bass boat ! what do you think ? I know the reaction time of the foam, I have spoke with the supplier about this. |

If going to the point of accessing (cutting off the top layer of glass) and scraping away the damaged foam, I suppose you could fill with foam or glass. Then shape and relaminate the top piece back on. |

I was considering drilling maybe 1" holes 1' apart down the center to scrape out deteriorated foam, & drilling smaller holes along the edge to start injecting foam thru.
