Does anyone see a problem with adding a rubber washer at the base of the shroud anchor pin where it meets the hull? Since this area gets so much stress, I thought it might be a good idea to give a little padding between the pin and the hull. It would also allow you to orient the pins the way you want and still snug them up. Any thoughts? |

I have the same setup. starting from bottom- Bolt, then toggle, then 7 hole adjuster, then shroud. However, my bolts are at 45 degree angles to the hulls when snug. I don't want to wrench them down too tight for fear that I will crack the deck or gelcoat. 90 degrees to hulls seems like the ideal spot for proper articulation, but for me, that is either too tight or too loose. That is why I was thinking of adding a rubber washer. This would put the bolt 90 degrees when it was snug in the hole and give a little padding to the deck at the same time. Thoughts? Does anyone have a suggestion for anchor pin tension and orientation to hulls? The assembly manuals are all pretty vague. |

There is no requirement for the anchor pin to be at a specific angle. The twist toggle allows the universal action. Wires when loaded can cause the hardware to spin / twist, so it can be difficult to make them stay in a specific angle. |
