Post subject:  Number under rudder casting

What does the number mean just under the rudder casting, slightly above where the rudder pin goes through the hull. On my 83' H16 it is etched in as:

port side: 637

starbord side: 630

Does anyone have any idea. I just noticed them today.

I think it just a production batch number, MMiller will be able to say for sure.

Post subject:  Mold number

Likely a mold number for the casting company's use in inventory control of tooling. They would be able to track which tool a part came out of.
