What is the advantage of having the jib tack placed down low on the adjuster vs. placing it up higher? |

Attaching causes more pull on the leach and closing it. Attaching down low causes more pull on the foot and opens up the leach. |

Thanks. In what sinario is it advantagious to place the jib higher? Or, is it best to locate the jib where there is equal tension on the foot and the leech? |

In very light wind conditions, it is more advantageous to have the jib higher so the head will catch more of the little breeze that there is. In very heavy conditions it is more advantageous to have the jib lower so you reduce heeling moment. In most conditions, you should try to get the leach and luff tensions about equal. |

Also in stronger winds when you mount it on the lowest hole, you want to tighten your jib sheet all the way. If it feels like you can tighten it more then adjust it up one hole. You want the sail to be as tight as possible when fully sheeted in. |
