Post subject:  Stack height - Jib clew blocks

I have rigged my jib clew blocks the way a lot of the racers are recommending for low stack height.(shackle through two eyes on clew plate with pin side of shackle through the higher hole) However, I am still having problems with my 22mm Harken micro blocks getting fowled on the shackle. The problem is that the shackle works its way around and wedges itself in the block. Does anyone else run into this? Trying to keep stack height as low as possible. Thanks

The shackle has to be as small as possible, and rather than using a "D" shackle, a bow shackle works better.

The Ronstan bow shackle with the 4 mm pin is the one to use.

I attached my blocks with a soft shackle made of 3mm Dyneema. There is no possibility of foul-ups with this setup, and I can still keep the stack height to a minimum.
The idea is to have zero slack in the shackle, and place the stopper knot up high and out of the way. You can attach the blocks to any one of the loops. Does anyone have thoughts on this? I've never seen it done this way, but it works!
