Here is a link for some pictures of the Power Righter if you are interested. You really cant see it up close in Murrays. Some of this may also be good if you are making your own pole system. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welc ... Ff¬ag=1 The base attaches to the bottom of the front crossbar. The small ropes go around the ends of the front crossbar and you attach a eye hook also to the bottom of the front crossbar. You feed the line through so its a loop. The white line is the righting line. Its fed through both loops and tied back on the pole where it originates. To get the angle on the pole you make a knot in the white line that you will slip into through the loop on either side. The knot is what keeps the pole at a 40 deg or so angle. There is another long line attached to the pole. This is tied off at the rear of the tramp or other spot. It is meant to stop the pole from pitching forward and hitting the dolphin striker. The only other line is the bungee for keeping the pole up when not in use. The pole will be about 10in longer than the tramp. I may put a piece of noodle foam around it. The pole is very lightweight and the system seems very sturdy. Let me know if you have any questions. I dont have it installed just yet but will before I take the boat out. |

Thanks for the pics, Fender. I have been wanting to build one for myself and have been wondering how they attach it to the front cross bar. That looks to be quite a sturdy U-joint. |

Thanks for the great idea but I'd love to see pics of the pole in operation. What is the pole made of? and where can you attach it to the beam without doing damage or causing a weakness? And how long is it? I have been using a 9ft pole on my H16 that I keep tied up diagonally under the tramp. I have to attach it to the upper pillars with lines. the pole slots into the lip on the lower hull and I jump out on that. The problem is that it takes ages to set up once I'v gone over - also a bit of a problem as I can't get back in/under fast enough to grab the striker and stop her if/when she bounces over onto the other side. I get banged on the head too!! Love to see the photos: [email protected] |

Do you actually have the line installed to stop the pole from hitting the dolphin striker? Not sure how bad they are about pitching foreward. |

it does not want to go forward against the dolphin striker (there is no line to prevent it) it works very well in assisting the righting of the boat. |
