I have a '84 H16, sails, (Hobie's) are Tequila Sunrise..... Looking at the sail color history chart, Tequila Sunrise sails are shown for 1977-1978. So, are my sails from 77-78 and retrofitted to my '84 hulls? Or were sail patterns from earilier years available ? |

When I purchased my first 16, in 1981, Tequila Sunrise pattern was still available as it was probably the most popular sail pattern We chose Carumba which was at that time a year old pattern A friend bought a new '82 identical to yours, yellow hulls and T Sunrise sails and...our sail number was 59501 yours being 80116 would be correct for 1984 |

I have Tequila Sunrise sails (sail number 84678) and 1984 hulls. This exact question has been on my mind for a long time. |

For what it is worth, I bought my '85 H-16 new with Rumrunner sails and the number was 86430. |

Ahhh the good old days, eight-nine thousand 16's per year Betcha they don't build more than 50 a year now...Matt Miller? |

The sail pattern chart shows the sails in the first year they were introduced, not every year they were produced. The Tequila Sunrise sails were the most popular sail pattern for many years (and still are, even though they technically haven't been produced since the mid-'80s) |
