Just curious, when I'm sailing, the front of the hulls wobble slightly, is that supposed to be happening? My boat is a mid 80's boat, but almost entirely like a rock, which leads me to my second question... I have a slightt soft spot probally 6 inches wide infront of the front port pylon. I plan to fix it soon, but was curious, if I sail the boat as hard as I can, I shouldn't run into any problems anyways, correct? Like I said, the rest of the entire boat is solid. Very well taken care of boat before I got it. |

Do the hulls "wobble" up and down? If so, then maybe you need to tighten your pylons or tramp lines. One way to test is while the boat is on a beach lift one hull and if the other hull doesn't lift up the same then you need to tighten the boat; others here may have ideas how to do that. |

Danger, Will Robinson! 
Soft spots in front of the pylon are bad news. Fix it before it breaks. Some wobble in older boats is unavoidable unless you glue the boat together, which I would not recommend. You can go with shims on the pylons to tighten it up more. Make sure the trampoline is drum tight. |

I think I heard all hulls do it. It isnt a wobble like you think, it's basically the hull doing a very slight rocking left and right. VERY slight, but noitceable. |

Mbounds, why wouldn't you epoxy the hulls? I just did mine over the winter and am quite happy with it. Just curious. Cory |

Looseness is mostly an aesthetics thing. Shims will reduce it without the finality of gluing. Gluing is fine if: 1) You're racing - it does make a difference at that level 2) Until you crack a corner casting or need to replace the hull (which I see on the horizon if he's already got a soft spot in front of the pylon). Getting the castings off the pylons can be a real struggle if the boat is glued together. |

Fix that soft spot ASAP it takes only about an hour the first time you do it and then you have to let it cure over night. Well worth the few minutes to fix it. By wobble, do you mean the hull move relative to the pylon, or does the hull just flex some? |
