This got me thinking, “what if mine broke, where would I find a replacement”? I’ve searched the old interwebs and cannot find an exact replacement. Cradle, stand, step, I search for all those, that "V-Block" is exactly what I was looking for, except mine is that weird hard grey, very textured/scratchy rubber. That black rubber would probably be better. Thank you! Oh, I get it, it is a bow stop for a monohull's bow to run into when putting the boat on the trailer. That makes sense. |

I replaced my old mast cradle with a V-Block like the one pictured above. I cut off the excess rubber so that it would fit in the channel of the cradle then ran a bolt through it to hold it in place. I works very well and doesn't cause any wear like the old worn out one did. The rubber has started to dry rot some in the elements, but it is easily replaceable. I highly recommend you take this approach. |
