Replacing my trashed 78 hulls with 1980 hulls. I don’t think they’ve been rebuilt or stripped off inside causing misalignment. Released tramp tension and that front tension rod. Lifted each hull and wiggled them around trying to ge holes lined up in 3 out of 4 corners. Tried wiggling a smaller bolt, screwdriver and anything strong enough to get the casting it turn the half a hole it’s off in the worst case. None of them budged. They line up top to bottom and one side lines up but the outer holes are twisted out of alignment. And yes, the hulls are on the correct sides. Was there a manufacturing change between 78 and 80 that would cause this? I’d rather not drill these out and make a wobblin goblin out of a good boat. |

Sounds possible one of the two may have been drilled by hand maybe from day one. I am pretty sure Matt has said in the past there is likely to be differences between boats with those holes. Sounds like a good reason to use something like epoxy to lock them in place once everything is lined up nice and straight. Then redrill the holes. |

Rather than drilling a new hole, could you make it bigger and change the bolt size? |
