Post subject:  Which (old) HC16 Mast base do I need?

Hi,
I recently bought an old HC16, the previous owner said it was "from the 80s", but he didn't know anything else. Now I've lost the base base. I got a replacement (part number 16000010) using the "Hobie 16 Parts Guide (Euro Version)" from Hobie Cat's web page, but the new base seems to be very small for my mast.

I've seen another similar HC16 that had some kind of spacer between the mast and this new mast base. I did not have that. And I do not think this smaller mast base would fit my current mast step.

I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get identifying which mast base I need.

My old mast base: (You can probably spot why I lost it. I've learned...)

The new mast base that seems to small:

My HC16, if case someone can help me with build year or a parts list that matches my boat. Is some kind of ID number scratched into the back of both hulls: "CCMS3813M84J"

I can tell you from that hull number that your boat is from 1984. The last two numbers are the year.

I can not tell from your picture how small the mast base is. I am pretty sure the 14 mast base is smaller. Maybe you got a 14 base?

Great! Thanks, A1cnc! 1984, that very valuable information for me.

* The internal dimensions of my mast is approx 96 mm x 73 (3.7" x 2.9")
* The external dimensions of the new (too small) base is approx 92 mm x 66 mm (3.6" x 2.6").

But I've not been able to locate any dimensions on the various parts supplied by Hobie. Do you know the approximate sizes they are supposed to have?
