Hi, are there any secrets for removing the front boom cap from an old h16 boom that would have never been removed? I have a seized gooseneck pin that in now broken off in the cap. |

Mallet and a big blade screw driver. Going around the cap to try and knock it out evenly. |

Also make sure that when you remove the rivets, all material from the rivet shank has been cleared from the hole. Even a small sliver of stainless steel left in the hole can cause the cap to bind, making removal impossible. Clamp the boom in a bench vice or affix it to something solid before attempting to knock the cap out. Otherwise when you hit the cap with a mallet, you’ll just move the whole boom. sm |
