OK, so here is my problem, I bought a Hobie 16 from a guy, and it was on a trailer with all the rigging stuff in boxes. I paid him and set up a date to rig the boat to sail and get familiar with setting it up and the dude just shines me. I live in San Diego, Ca. By Park to be specific. What I am looking for is someone to show me how to rig the boat and I am willing to Pay bucks for a lesson. It has an Aussie halyard set up so you need to be familiar with that. I will pay $150 us dollars for just a couple hrs instruction on how to do this. YOU do not even have to help, I have a partner who wants to learn also, you just have to point and say " that goes there ". I am in the wrong part of the country, otherwise I would have left the office hours ago to join you on the beach. It will help matters if you go to YouTube and punch in 'How to rig a Hobie 16'. Lotsa stuff there. You can also try Joyrider TV, and Joe Bennett - he shares much good information. The plastic chip in the mast cup is an important issue. Tramp tightness is another. Aussie jib halyard is interesting the first few times, then it makes sense - you'll get it. Have fun, be safe. |
