Hello all,
Just joining this community. I grew up on the water with my family's Catalina 27, and then catalina 36 on the long island sound, while also spending some time on a Tartan 3000. My family moved to central Massachusetts which is no longer a quick and easy ride for a sail, so I have been looking on craigslist for a decent priced Hobie to use with my two sons. Came across a Hobie 16 which looked to be in great shape with a trailer. Went out there two days ago and brought it home! sails are a bit worse for wear, especially the main sail which has a 6x6 hole in it with other smaller holes. The trailer made it the hour ride back without any issues. The hull is solid and in great shape, trampoline is in good condition as well. Ill be replacing all the ropes and giving it a good scrub, but otherwise I am very happy with it. Not a bad deal for $700
