There is an old H16 for sale on Marketplace in Michigan, and it looks like the shrouds are attached to the tramp rails, rather than the outer edge of the hulls. Was that how very early boats were set up? Or is this some weird modification by some previous owner? It has a very early style main blocks/traveler set up, so it must be early 70s. |

Are you sure its not a 14? The shrouds on 14’s attach to the side bars and it’s not uncommon for 14’s to be listed in classifieds as 16’s or vice versa. sm |

Agree with SRM. I’ve never seen a 16 with sidebar shroud anchors (doesn’t mean someone didnt do it though). easiest way to differentiate a 14 from 16 is the non-skid on bows ahead of tramp frame. 14 is totally smooth. 16 has two strips of non-skid. That and the 16 just is bigger. |

After investigating more, you are correct, it is a Hobie 14! Thanks for the help, |
