Post subject: | Non-Comp Tip |
Hi all, I've found the non comp tip mast to be superior in every way to the comp tip so much that I have purchased old masts just to keep the boat going strong. I have one issue that I'm afraid I may already know the answer too, but thought I would throw it out anyway. In the parts catalogue, I can't find the 16 non-comp tip, but I can find halyards etc. I have found many used on eBay, but I'm hoping for a new old stock non comp masthead tip. If anyone has a bead on one. I'd appreciate it! |

As far as I can tell the only thing that goes bad is the plastic pulley. I'm going to make a new one on the lathe at some point. |

I’m pretty sure that the comptip mast head can also be installed on the all-aluminum mast by drilling some holes for the fasteners in the appropriate locations. sm |

Plus the CompTip halyard. Yes that would work. |

My old non comp sheave finally gave up the ghost. Made a new one with nylon, stainless sheet, and epoxy. So far so good but a lathe would have been handy!! |
