Good Morning, The trapeze handles on our older Hobie 16 recently broke off, but the rigging still looks good, so I don’t necessarily want to replace the whole rigging, but I would like new handles. The problem is it looks like the handles comes threaded on the rigging. Does anybody have any suggestions of how to get around this? Do they make handles that can be added after the fact? Thanks! |

I know Hobie has a 2 piece unit that screws together on the "Hobie sailing parts & accessories catalog" online, i don't know how well they work. Steve C. |

The two-piece handles are solid. I have one that I had to buy for my old boat when I broke a handle. You can totally trust them. |

I have used the two piece handles for years, in fact I prefer them as I find they provide a more solid 'grip'. They are neoprene covered aluminum handles, not cheap, but very worthwhile. Check with your local Hobie dealer. |

I have 2 sets of trap wires, one is very old and I bought a newer set about a year ago so that I can double trap. I feel like the handles are two low on the wires for both sets. It would be so much easier to hold myself up getting in and off the wire if my arm were straighter. To the point that I will likely add another 'pill' and move them up. Does anyone else have this issue? I am curious if it's only my preference or something that should be looked into. Thanks, |
